Oxford 1985 & 1986 Comparison

Below is a comparison of the two tapes circulating labelled as coming from Oxford in 1985 and 1986. The tapes come from the same source, but are different transfers with the 1986 tape containing a bit more music. It is a fairly rough audience recording with occasional rough spots, but nothing major. There isn't a great deal of difference sound-wise between them.

- 1985 is listed as venue unknown, 1986 is listed as Oxford University.
- Both recordings from an unknown gen cassette with an unknown transfer to CDR.
- Musical content is largely the same apart from 1986 containing an extra 20 seconds at the end of "Jam #3".
- All tuning/banter has been cut
- 1985 tape is louder
- 1985 runs slower, but I'm not sure which of the two tapes runs at the correct speed
- 1985 has a carrier-signal just above 16k, 1986 doesn't

Jam #3

- Both are cut before the end
- 1986 has about 20 seconds more tape at the end
- 1985 runs about 2.1% slower^

Jam #4

- 1985 runs about 3.5% slower^

Cosmic Note 'B' > Aumriff > Erpriff

- 1985 has this as one track, 1986 splits it into three
- 1986 has a longer fade at the end
- 1985 runs about 2.45% slower^
