General
1. I trade at a 1/1 rate, be they CDR or DVD. I'd now prefer to trade CDR/DVD full of FLAC/SHN/APE files, but I'll happily still do the odd CDR audio trade here and there. I'm also up for online trades (via Bittorrent, FTP, DC++ etc).
2. I use EAC (Exact Audio Copy) in Secure Mode (read/write offsets corrected) to extract WAV files onto my hard drive and then burn using DAO (Disc-At-Once) at 15x speed. When it comes to live recordings, please always use the DAO mode to avoid the 2 second gaps between the tracks.
3. I'm only after shows with source or generation information at the moment. The following bands are an exception to this rule: Ozric Tentacles, Porcupine Tree, Opeth.
4. No MP3 sourced material. In the past I was not intentionally trading with MP3 sourced material, but now I have the ability to detect (in most cases) whether a show has an MP3 lineage or not. There still may be some of my shows that are actually sourced that way (unknown to me at the time) and it will be indicated in the comments section, these will be removed whenever I come across them. If I find what you have sent me is from MP3 I will hunt you down...
5. Use a decent media to burn onto please. I do, so I expect the people to trade with to do the same.
B&P Policy
At this moment in time I havn't got the time (or energy) to undertake any B&Ps. This may change in the future. When it does it will appear here.
Sound Quality
One person's ear may hear things differently to someone else so there's no "set rules" regarding sound quality. My ratings are given based on what I hear, but here's a guide so you have a rough ide where I'm coming from:
SUP: SUPERB - usually reserved for "official release quality" material
EX:S EXCELLENT - top quality, no noise/distortion at all (+/- indicate slight variations)
VG:S VERY GOOD - generally good but not professional quality, possible very slight noise / distortion (+/- indicate slight variations)
G:S VGOOD - all instruments audible with excessive hiss, some compressed sound or distortion (+/- indicate slight variations)
R:S VREASONABLE - fair instrument balance, but sound quality below average
F:S VFAIR - poor balance, at least one instrument inaudible, bad distortion
P:F VPOOR - only main instrument clearly audible, very distorted with bad hall ambience
A:S VABYSMAL - virtually inaudible
